The Soundtrack

This is the soundtrack that revolutionized the way compilation albums for motion pictures are handled. Everything about this soundtrack – from the advertising, to the selected bands, to the songs themselves – was groundbreaking to the music industry. Never before had a movie inspired such a list of class-A bands, all contributing ORIGINAL songs to the soundtrack … songs that had an important, driving impact on the tone of the movie itself.

The Score

When I first bought GRAEME REVELL'S score cd for "The Crow," I did so with only a vague excitement of what I would hear. In my mind, the alternative-rock compilation soundtrack (with music by The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Pantera, Stone Temple Pilots, ect.) was the real musical spirit of the film, and I in no way expected the score to evoke the same emotions as the songs. I had heard Revell's work in the past, in such films as "Body Of Evidence" and "Dead Calm," so I knew he was capable of creating scores that stood on their own, separate from the film itself. I was also aware that he was very talented. Until I heard his score for "The Crow," however, I never knew just how tremendously talented the man was.
