Passion. Revenge. Eternity
Wicked Prayer is the fourth and most recent film in the Crow series, and was made with an extremely small budget. The announcement that Lance Mungia, the director of the cult-favorite "Six String Samurai", would be directing Wicked Prayer really filled me with a lot of hope, as did the casting of Dennis Hopper and David David Boreanaz. Unfortunately, for me, the end result was the most disappointing film in the entire franchise. Hopper's talents were completely wasted, Boreanaz was entertaining, but really chewed the scenery, Tara Reid simply isn't a good actress, and the lead, Ed Furlong of "Terminator 2" fame, was rather inconsitent. Many fans really enjoyed it, but many others were disappointed.
The Plot:
In a small town in the American southwest, Luc Crash and Lola Byrne, the leaders of a satanic gang known as the "Four Horseman of the Apocalypse", murder a young ex-con and outcast named Jimmy Cuervo and his girlfriend Lily in order to complete a ritual that will transform Luc into the physical manifestation of Satan. However, Luc's plans hit a snag when the call of revenge sees Jimmy rise from the dead with the powers of the Crow to avenge Lily's death, and also to stop the completion of Luc's ritual.
I've written a review of Wicked Prayer, which does contain spoilers.
